Kingsley Shacklebolt is a powerful wizard, employee of the Ministry of Magic. He worked there as an Auror, but joined the Order of the Phoenix in 1995 after being convinced of Voldemort's return. He does undercover work within the Ministry but also feeds the Order of the Phoenix information and dwarfs the Ministry's efforts to locate Sirius Black. During the summer of 1995, he and several members of the Order picked up Harry Potter from the Dursleys to take him to 12 Grimmauld Square, the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. In 1996, he fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. He battles Bellatrix Lestrange after she kills Sirius Black but is defeated by the powerful witch. Afterwards, he is assigned to guard the Muggle Prime Minister and officially acts as his secretary.

Kingsley Shacklebolt's wand is of unknown length, wood, and heart. It was probably made by Garrick Ollivander.
